Hello
I was introduced to the town of Forest City NC by virtue of being invited to be one of several entertainers. Forest City is currently going through some revitalization efforts to bring the city back to its once bustling status. Part of the effort is to introduce art and music to the community. The festival fatured poetry, a gospel group, a Mariachi Band, Praise Dancers artwork on display and the sound of steel drums. I was especially impressed with the hospitality and friendliness of the festival comittee. Having a live sound engineer was a first for me. I've done my own amplification before, but being on a stage and having a "sound man" make sure that your music is crystal clear, was a treat and I believe a glimpse of things to come. Thank You Mr Hargrove and Forest City.

This blogs describes the musical journey that I'm experiencing. I play the steel drum and it has taken me to many new places and brought me into the company of some wonderful people. Please join me, because every encounter is unique.
So...what does your music sound like?

A triple play weekend
Hello
I've covered some ground this weekend. Friday started with entertaining the guests of Palmetto Creek community in Bolivia NC. The residents have created a weekly meet up among themselves and included me in this week's gathering.
From there I traveled an hour away to the peacful shores of North Topsail Island. That was my first time playing there. I can see the effects of a harsh economy as there were many beachfront houses up for sale. Definitely a buyers market. The evening was picture perfect though.
My trip ended back in Charlotte at a lovely wedding in downtown Charlotte. The couple and their family were so inviting and accomodating. They even had Carib-the main beer of Trinidad on hand. I was soooo surprised and excited too. The vibe of the wedding/reception was electric. A good time was had by all! Congrats to the newlweds..The Thorntons and the Jones.
I really am thankful for the blessing of being able to share my music with so many wonderful people.
Music to heal
Hello All
I'm very excited about signing up to share my music with the local Hospice network. Music has healing qualities and can be used to bring smiles to faces. I'm looking forward to using the delightful sound of the steel drums to add some beautiful sounds to the lives of the residents.

15yrs of Ministry
Hello
This weekend was a very full on for me. I spent it celebrating the 2yr anniversary of The Faith Center Church in Charlotte and 15yr oF the sister church Redeeming Life Christian Center in Bluefield WV. The activities started with a basket ball game between the ladies teams and then the deacons vs Clergy. The next day we had A church diner and the service itself. I always like jumping in with the praise team and adding to the atmosphere of worship. Praise God.

Hi there
So I've been fiddling around with the new programs and I finally came up with a new song. Its actually a loop based production-which has opened up a whole new world of exploration for me. Its a House Music genre instrumental- perfect for warming up to exercise-sort of like the coordinated step classes at the gym...a high energy tune. I like the results. I'm practicing writing music of different styles and not just for steel drums...however the steel drum is my voice and i will include in some of the new material too. My next project is an RnB / chill groove- think of long drive/wind down relax music. This song features steel drums. I composed it a while ago. I'd like to bring it too life.

Hello everyone
Well I've got the tools to create music at home. I have 3 types of popular music making software. Cubase, Cakewalk and Ableton. How many songs have I made? Zero...lol. I'm still on the learning curve. Its not that bad, just time consuming. I always hear artist complain that the technical side of music hampers creativity. true in a sense, but my determination is what keeps me going. Prior to getting the praograms and a capable computer to run them, I had to play part by part and try to remember them...not a bad thing, because alot of the great writers composed like that. However I got frustrating when you had nothing to share with your friends family or people with a general interest in your music. Hopefully, now I have the tools to share my music.
Stay tuned
